Designer Meng Yang just launched a new Kickstarter project that I think you all will love. Inspired by a road trip with his girlfriend, Meng was decided to design a series of posters that highlight the nicknames of the Great Lakes states they visited. The series will include six posters, each screen printed in its own unique set of colors on various colored papers. And I have to say the designs are looking awesome. If you like what you see, you can learn more about the project and lend him support right here.

One of my favorites, Eight Hour Day, recently completed the Identity and various collateral you see below for The ADMCi, the American Design and Master-Craft initiative. Beautiful work, as always. Here’s some background from EHD’s point of view:
The brand is about connection. Stylistically, the logomark and patterns are meant to be a modern take on the Arts and Crafts movement — a movement with a similar desire to reform traditional craftsmanship in an industrialized world. The dot of the “i” within the logomark is used throughout the pattern to represent the brand’s organic connection of people, ideas and support. Large photographic crops of finished designs convey the idea of curation, keeping focus on the object and the art. The result is a bold modern brand for an organization worthy of the artisans it supports.

Designer Meenal Patel is doing some excellent work at KNOCK. In particular, I’m loving the play title illustrations she’s developed for various seasons at the Children’s Theatre Company, under the Creative Direction of Dan Weston and Todd Paulson. There’s lots more to see in her portfolio, so be sure to take a look around.
