Shop With Me on Luvocracy

Yesterday we talked visual inspiration apps. Today we’re going in a totally different direction: shopping.

Luvocracy is a relatively new social shopping site where you can post finds from shops around the web and organize them into thematic collections. It’s very much a social space—the idea is that you follow people whose taste you admire, so that you can discover awesome products that are right up your alley. The result of following those you trust is a continually updated catalog that is personalized just for you, according to your taste. It’s beautifully designed and fun to browse, and I especially love getting personal recommendations from tastemakers I wouldn’t otherwise be able to connect with.

It is similar to Pinterest in that you are posting and sharing recommendations with followers. The difference is that this is entirely focused on products, and you also have the ability to purchase items directly through the site.

When you sign up, you will also be able to create your own collections, share items you love, and invite your friends to join via Facebook or email. As a bonus, you’ll also earn rewards from any purchases through your pages, and whenever your invitees make purchases on the site during the first year.

The greatest part is they do all of the work for you. When you make a purchase through Luvocracy, they then buy the item directly from the seller on your behalf. You put your credit card information once, and that will cover you any time you want to shop through the app—minimal clicks. Plus, they’ll also take care of returns.

So far I’ve enjoyed using the app, since I do a lot of shopping online already, and this just makes it all the more fun. I think they still have some kinks to work out with the retailer side of things, but I’m definitely interested to see where it goes. Kickstarter: Ugmonk’s OpenFrame

Ugmonk recently launched a new product, called OpenFrame, via Kickstarter. OpenFrame is “a simple, flexible solution to display art, posters, photos, and more.” It provides a framing system that accommodates multiple sizes and configurations of prints, a way to swap out artwork quickly and easily and features special oversized slots on the back for easy hanging. The frames are constructed out of a combination of birch plywood, birch veneer, and stainless steel and comes in three different sizes and finishes. They have 25 fundraising days to go and they’re already more than half way to their goal, so it’s looking promising. If you want to join in, you can throw some support their way right here.

New Poppin Prints

A Mid-Century Canada Update

You may remember Michael George Haddad’s excellent personal project, Mid-Century Canada, which I featured earlier last month. Well, due to the overwhelmingly positive response he received, Michael decided to produce a print to showcase the series. He’s created a limited edition, 18″ x 24″ letterpress poster featuring all thirteen icons. Pick it up on Etsy.

Kate Spade Saturday

This post doesn’t exactly fit into my Valentine’s Day theme, but bear with me…

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed last night that I attended the launch party for Kate Spade’s new brand, Saturday. As a big Kate Spade fan (both of their products and their brand), I’ve been super excited to see this brand launch since I caught wind of it several months ago. The party had their new line displayed gallery style, from clothing and handbags, to jewelry and home goods. And the collection as a whole features lots of bright colors, clean lines and graphic patterns. Right up my alley.

The collection doesn’t officially launch until March, BUT today (as of right now actually) you can shop many of the pieces exclusively through Fab.com. Check it out right here.

Misc. Goods Co.

I’ve just discovered Misc. Goods Co., a new shop from Tyler Deeb of Pedale Design. You may remember his playing cards Kickstarter project from a little while back. Well the shop now contains various goods, from t-shirts to prints, that share the same style as the original deck of cards. As of now, some of the goods are available for pre-order only, but you can check out the entire selection right here.
