Allan Peters: ESPN Music Issue Typography

Allan Peters recently had the plea­sure of design­ing a type­face for ESPN’s Music Issue, which is cur­rently on news­stands. The result­ing type­face, which was inspired by the grooves on a vinyl record, is appro­pri­ately named Vinyl. The let­ter­forms were used through­out the issue in head­lines, ini­tial caps and full page illus­tra­tions. What an amaz­ing oppor­tu­nity!
