Ken Sakurai

Ken Sakurai is one of the best design­ers I’ve ever known. For two and a half years, I had the honor of work­ing along­side him on sev­eral projects. Watching him go about the daily busi­ness of graphic design was one of the best edu­ca­tions I could’ve ever asked for. Ken has the rare abil­ity to take abstract con­cepts and weave them together in unex­pected ways that always feel effort­less. His ideas always made me say to myself, “Why didn’t I think of that?” and his nat­ural instincts for color, type and pro­por­tions always seem to be right the first time.

Ken doesn’t seek atten­tion for him­self – he’s far too hum­ble for that sort of thing. He doesn’t have a site, at least that I know of, and he wouldn’t be caught dead on Twitter. But when Courtney asked me to do a guest post, he was the first per­son I thought peo­ple should know more about.
