Design Work Life: Cataloging Inspiration Daily

Brandon Wilson, of Contrabrand, worked with Studio Skate Supply to cre­ate Hardware, a series of prod­ucts inspired by mem­o­ries of his grand­fa­ther and the expe­ri­ences they shared:

He was super into auc­tions and his home­town we would spend our time at auc­tions find­ing tools, hard­ware, any­thing that had a tie to local his­tory. Generally if it was worn we’d spray paint it black and call it new, every­thing was hand altered in some way. I took those ideas and designed the line around them.
