New Blog: Pen & Ink

I don’t have any tattoos myself — mostly because I can’t decide what to get — but I’ve wanted one for as long as I can remember. Maybe that will change soon though, courtesy Pen & Ink, a new blog about tattoos and the stories behind them. Founded by Isaac Fitzgerald and Wendy McNaughton, each post features an illustration of a submitted tattoo accompanied by its hand-lettered story. It’s opened up a whole new world of inspiration — be sure to click on over there to get a closer look.

Thanks for sharing Courtney! I am the same way about tattoos…I love them, I want one, I know what I want and where I’d get it…but I don’t know if I’ll ever go through with it. You know how it is, being a designer, I’m afraid it won’t be perfect and then I’ll be stuck with it! But I love the stories behind tattoos, so this is a great blog!

I’ve never wanted a tattoo myself but I am loving the illustration and typography illustrating each personal story. The lady with the T-Rex made me smile.

I always wonder why people get certain tattoos and if there is back story. This a great glimpse into other people’s tattoo decisions. I know most people think my blue star tattoo is a stupid young decision, but it means something to me.
