Every year I look forward to seeing the final projects of the SVA MFA Designer as Author program. This year, the 21 graduates present Unleashed, a collection of self-designed projects in which students “give form to ideas that address aspects of life and culture needed in our society.” Each one of the projects is unique and interesting in its own way, and addresses issues of education, the environment, politics and more.
I found every one of the projects really interesting to explore, but I was really intrigued by Table and chair; pen and paper; text and time by Helga Schmid, an exploration of handwriting.
