The Portrait Machine Project

I’m com­pletely fas­ci­nated by The Portrait Machine Project, a series of pho­tos by Carlo Van de Roer that are made with a Polaroid aura cam­era. The cam­era itself was cre­ated in the 1970s by a sci­en­tist in an attempt to record what a psy­chic might see. The results are absolutely beautiful.
