Not sure how I stumbled upon the work of Wayne White, but he’s definitely an artist I’ll be paying more attention to from now on. He is best known for work that takes old (and typically unattractive) thrift store paintings and adds oversized, colorful type on top. Unfortunately there isn’t any one comprehensive site on his work (that I could find anyway), but a Google search will turn up quite a few examples if you’re interested in seeing more. And you can also pre-order the first book of his work, Maybe Now I’ll Get the Respect I So Richly Deserve, on Amazon right here.

He did the cover for Lambchop’s album Nixon — a great album and a great artist! Thanks for reminding me about him.
