Design Work Life: Cataloging Inspiration Daily

Take a look at Stefan Sagmeister’s lat­est addi­tion to the ongo­ing “Things I’ve Learned in my Life So Far” series, a state­ment that prob­a­bly rings true for most design­ers. (Submit your own right here.) The mes­sage, cre­ated entirely out of hun­dreds of thou­sands of metic­u­lously placed euro cent coins, was cre­ated as a part of Urban Play, one of the major events within exper­i­men­tade­sign 2008 in Amsterdam. Unfortunately though, the piece was short-lived. Apparently the police swept up the entire art­work a few hours after its instal­la­tion in an effort to pre­vent peo­ple from pock­et­ing the coins.
