Design Work Life: Cataloging Inspiration Daily

I love pat­tern art.

I use it A LOT in my work — prob­a­bly too much accord­ing to some peo­ple. But it’s one aspect of design that I really enjoy play­ing around with. I have not, how­ever, mas­tered an easy way to make a repeat, (despite the fact that I took a cou­ple of Surface Pattern Design classes in col­lege). I’m sure my process is twice as difficult/involved/complicated as it needs to be, so I was pretty psy­ched to see this tuto­r­ial given by Julia Rothman, a pat­tern designer and illus­tra­tor whose work I really admire.
